Istanbul's Best Hospitals: Our 2022 Selection

Good healthcare matters when you live in or move to a new city. In 2022 we highlighted three well-established private hospitals in Istanbul, known for their specialist doctors and quality of service.

Memorial Şişli Hospital

Memorial Health Group runs several sites in Istanbul and includes some of the city's best-known private hospitals. The group began providing services in 2000 and is known for its healthcare quality and successful surgical operations.

American Hospital

The American Hospital operates under the Vehbi Koç Foundation, part of Koç Holding, one of Turkey's largest companies. In 2022 it had nearly 100 years of experience. It is known for state-of-the-art equipment and a strong team of specialist doctors, and aims to provide medical care to international standards.

It was the first private hospital in Turkey to hold all four of these certificates:

• Joint Commission International (JCI)
• ISO 9001: Quality Certificate
• ISO 14001: Environmental Management System
• ISO 27001: Information Security Management System

The hospital has hosted international patients for many years. It treats foreigners living in Turkey as well as visitors who come for health tourism, and has specialised services for them.

Istanbul Florence Nightingale Hospital

One of Istanbul's long-established hospitals, Florence Nightingale has served local and foreign patients for many years and is known for its specialist doctors.

The building's architecture was designed with emergencies in mind. Designed as a smart hospital, it holds the title of Turkey's first "Green Hospital Building" thanks to its TÜV Hessen Green Building certificate.
