Tersane Istanbul: History and Modern Luxury on the Golden Horn
Built on the historic Ottoman shipyards of the Golden Horn, Tersane Istanbul combines 660 residences, marinas, museums, hotels and over 270 stores.
On the shores of the Golden Horn, Tersane Istanbul transforms the historic shipyards of the Ottoman Empire into a new residential, cultural and social centre in the heart of the city.
From Ottoman shipyard to modern district
Founded in 1455 by Sultan Mehmed the Conqueror, Tersane-i Amire was one of the most important naval hubs of the Ottoman Empire. It remained in use in the early Republican period but later stood idle until the Tersane Istanbul project revived the area. The restoration preserves the historical buildings while turning the site into a modern cultural and social hub.
